JenniLee began her career in fashion unexpectedly in independent film. In 1996 she left film school in Miami to take her chances and move to New York City. Upon arriving in NYC and trying out the camera & art departments she immediately found her calling in the costume department. After a year of assisting costume designers and getting to work with a variety of actors from Angelina Jolie to the late Spalding Gray she was Costume Designing indie films on her own. Shortly after meeting Lauryn Hill’s stylist she accepted the opportunity to tour the world for a year as the Tour Stylist. Upon returning to New York City, she fell into the music scene and found herself styling musicians, edgy fashion editorial and working on TV shows. In her spare time she was hand embroidering shirts that got picked up & sold in select boutiques in Manhattan.
With over 10 years in fashion, she has established for herself a strong foothold in the industry as the Fashion Director of ANTENNA magazine which has it’s finger on the pulse of Men’s Fashion & Culture. In addition, Jenni collaborates with photographers and creative directors for television, advertising, print and the web. She has styled celebrities as diverse as Mos Def, Scarlett Johanssen, Death Cab for Cutie, Heath Ledger, Paramore, L.L. Cool J. and Ben Affleck. Clients include Harper’s Bazaar, Aventura, Bloomingdale’s, Yahoo, Brocato Hair, Atlantic Records and Sony.
Although she was born in sunny Venice Beach, California and raised in Texas and South Florida; JenniLee was raised by her mother who is a born and bred New Yorker. Growing up she dreamed of moving to New York and being a part of a creative community. She credits all her fashion sense and savvy to her Nana Kitty who taught her everything from designers, styles and fabrics when she took her on regular outings to the Jewish Thrift Stores in South Florida.
JenniLee is currently based in Brooklyn, NY and is continually inspired by the sights and sounds of the city.
